ABOUT THE NORWEGIAN CROP CIRCLE GROUP

THE NORWEGIAN CROP CIRCLE GROUP is a network of Norwegians interested in the crop circle phenomenon. It is not a membership organisation, but consists of a network of more than a thousand individuals who have signed up for e-mail newsletters (only in Norwegian language).

A few individuals in the network form a work group who takes care of various tasks: Represent the network at stands on alternative issue conferences, hold lectures, edit this webg site and send out news letters.

This information work is carried out on a unpaid, non-commercial basis. All revenues from the items sold from stands, goes to covering the costs of the information work.

THE PURPOSE of the Norwegian Crop cIrcle Group is to collect and register information about Norwegian crop circles, as well as informing about the international phenomenon. The information is made available to the public at this web site.

ON A WORLD BASIS  approximately 13.000 crop circles have been recorded, the majority in England. Crop circles have also been registered in Canada, U.S.A, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark and several other countries around the world. In Norway, crop circles have been registered since 1991.

THE GREATEST MYSTERY OF OUR TIMES?  Even though some crop circles are known to be man-made, for instance on commission by television channels, and as commercials, the majority of the circles are of unknown origin. Despite extensive research for more than 15 years (of 250 crop circles in 9 different countries ), no one has, up till now, been able to establish with certainty how the formations are made.

MAN-MADE CIRCLES. We do not consider it a main task to dermine whether every Norwegian formation is man-made or not. However, in cases where we receive documented evidence that a circle is man-made, we will share the information with you.

CONTACT US!  If you have any information about Norwegian crop circles that we have not registered, contact us through our  Guest Book  or at  post@kornsirkler.org.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING

We ask anyone who visits cultivated fields in Norway during the growth season, to be careful not to harm the crop. We also remind you that you need permission from the farmer before you enter the fields in summertime.

THE NORWEGIAN OUTDOOR RECREATION ACT

Public access to and use of woods, fields, rivers, lakes, skerries, irrespective of who owns them, is an ancient unwritten right in Norway. The "Outdoor Recreation Act", unique in Europe, legalises this right. There are however some restrictions to this public right, for instance the restriction of access to cultivated land. The free access to cultivated land is only valid when the ground is frozen or snow covered (generally from the middle of October to the middle of April).
