Report - ( 20th of February 2005). 

My name is Jan Olav Mjøs, I'm 35 years old and live in Bergen, Norway. From 1995 to 2000 I lived at Skjønhaug in the community of Trøgstad in the county of Østfold, Norway. During this period I worked at the local radio station (Radio 5, Trøgstad). 

Late in the evening on a Friday in August 1997, a few weeks prior to the harvest, I witnessed a crop circle form.

Photograph: The building houses some of the community offices, a police station and fire station. When standing in the parking lot and looking to the right of this building, you see a large grain field.

Radio Trøgstad has its studio in the same building as the community offices, the police station and the fire station. Between this building and the nearest farm houses, there is a little valley. The slope on the other side of this valley is easlily seen from the windows in the building.

I was sitting in my office working with the program plan for the next week, when I looked out of the window and saw a ball of light. It moved in a semi circle over the farm buildings before it moved in a vibrating manner above the crop plants in the field. The distance from the building where I was sitting to this field was perhaps 200 metres, and I would guess that the ball of light was about 2 metres in diametre, although I have to admit that it is difficult to estimate the size of a light object in the dark.

The next morning I saw that there was a crop pattern in the field. I didn't consider it anything sensational as I knew that crop circles happen around the world, so a took no photographs, but I regarded it as an amusing incident.

In each of the circles, the plants were bent over in a "fan shape" towards the left:

I did not report the incident until I learned about the Norwegian Crop Circle Group in late 2004. I sent them this written report, photgraph and diagram in February 2005.
