Anomalous light spheres
and other luminous
phenomena, witnessed
from Knap Hill, England
In the afternoon 21st July 2004 Irene Lian and Guro K.
Parvanova (two crop circle searchers from Norway),
stood at the end of the parking area at Knap Hill nearby
the Megalithic site of Adams Grave.
It was 2200 hrs, already twilight, and darkening, but they
vaguely could see East Field below them. To the right, a
crop formation that had appeared four weeks previous,
was vaguely visible. It was a perfectly clear night, and
amazingly there was no wind at all, rare indeed, for this is
a wild and exposed hill.
"Suddenly we saw an orange light to the right of Wood-
borough Hill. Because of the darkness we were unable to
judge the distance, so at first we thought it was a street
light, as seen a few hundred meters away. However, the
light started to move slightly to the left, then to the right,
then a little downwards. Suddenly a new orange light, a
bit smaller than the first one, showed up to the right of
the first one. This second light was blinking out, then
coming back, and continued to do this for the rest of the
time we were there. After a while, a third orange light
appeared a bit above the other two, a bit smaller and
fainter, and moving up and down.
We spent one and a half hour up there, and during this
time many other lights, which looked like blinking stars
that were moving in all kinds of strange ways and
directions were also visible. We were able to follow one
of them closely, as it moved from above the Huish area
(to the left of our position), and went over Golden Ball
Hill (very close to the top) until it passed the field beside
Knap Hill, where we stood. Atually we did see the light
through the fence, which means it was moving very low.
Suddenly I turned around and saw a fantastic, large
funnel or pipe of light over the top behind us. It had a
blended white and pinkish colour, and we could clearly see
the spiral structure in it, much like the twisters in America.
The lower end of it was behind the hill top. While Irene
was running to the car in order to get my camera (we
had forgotten both camera and binoculars), the funnel
faded away. The whole event took place over a period of
five to ten minutes.
I was about to photograph the three orange lights (that
were still moving and clearly visible at Woodborough Hill),
but now for some reason I was not able to see anything
through my camera lens... The lens seemed blurred, as if it
was broken. My Nikon camera (mechanical) is about ten
years old, but I always take very nice and clear pictures
with it. I handed the camera over to Irene, calling her to
try. Strangely enough she could not see through the lens
either.. We just had to give it up, and concluded that the
lens was broken. (The next morning, however, I tried it
again, and to our utter surprise there was nothing wrong
with it! The camera was working perfectly, and I shoot a
lot of nice pictures with it during the rest of our stay in
Wiltshire).
But the light show at Knap Hill was not yet over...
"Amazingly, further down in the Vale of Pewsey (the same
general area) we suddenly noticed something that is best
described as a rectangular "wall" of light – quite huge!
The colour was yellowish/pinkish, and it just stood there,
at the same spot all the time.
The finale was a large blue orb or ball of light, coming from
the far end of East Field below the other side of Adams
Grave, way off to our right. This light ball had a blue
centre, like the star Sirius, only it was much bigger than
the star. The orb's blue light was radiating outwards
towards the edge, which was pure white. Irene
compared it with X-rays both in colour and structure. The
blue orb moved rather slowly in a pulsating, hopping way,
sometimes stopping, then moving, stopping, moving again
all the time. We had to look up to follow it but it was not
very high up in the sky, and it was rather close, too. It
must have been passing right in the middle of East Field.
When it suddenly stopped right in front of us for about a
minute or so, it was a moment of bliss! We felt a strong
contact. It was just fantastic! This was a feeling of pure
happiness that is rarely experienced.
We are not at all sure that this orb was all light. It seemed
to be a solid object, very shiny, emitting a strong radiance.
Suddenly the moment was over, and in a split second the,
until then, very large orb became the size of a pin head,
and accelerated so fast that it just vanished. However, we
could follow it with our eyes in a way for some few seconds.
We cannot really explain this.
INVESTIGATIONS
The following day it came to our knowledge that some
people at the local pub "The Barge Inn", situated in Alton
Barnes, had seen a blue light moving in the sky at the same
time as we saw it. It is quite possible that this was the same
orb.
Stuart Dyke, who is administrating cropcircleconnector.com
informed us later on that he had seen a video made by a
group of French researchers at the same night and at the
same time. They had been having a night watch at the other
side of Adams Grave. At least the orange lights were on
that video. It is possible that even more of the strange
events that we saw, are on that video as well.
The following day we went back to Knap Hill, to reconstruct
the scene. It became obvious to us then that the orange
lights were no street lights (as seen at a few hundred meters
distance), because there are no streets or roads in that
vicinity. The lights we saw were far away. Stuart Dyke,
who is very familiar with the area, estimated the distance to
be at least 5 km maybe more.
No crop formations came that night after our extraordinary
experiences. Four days afterwards, however, the Golden
Ball Hill formation – the "Dolphins" – appeared exactly
where the big, blue orb disappeared out of our sight."
